Dave moved to Wyoming when he was six months old and moved away in 1977. During those years he attended Wyoming public schools (first grade through University of Wyoming), had his first “real job” with a social security number and a timeclock at Albertsons, did research in two separate jails, got married and worked for three years at CIG.

He returned to Wyoming in 2007. Between those dates he earned a Ph.D. in sociology at the University of Illinois, taught at Centenary College of Louisiana for a decade and served as vice president and academic dean at William Penn College, Barat College, and College of the Redwoods. He and his wife, Christine, have a son, Kellam, who earned a Ph.D. in anthropology and archaeology from Binghamton University and is supervising a large excavation project at Crow Canyon Archeological Center in Colorado.

Dave has served as executive director of CCHEC since 2007 and at this stage in his career can look back and say “this group of colleagues is uniformly the best group of colleagues I have ever worked with. Thank you.”

Dave is also an Adjunct for WWCC and teaches Sociology and Criminal Justice courses.
