Citizenship

Citizenship classes are offered at various times throughout the year. Classes provide information needed to complete the Naturalization application (Form 400) and assist in studying for the oral and written tests administered by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) when seeking citizenship. Two levels of classes are offered: Basic and Advanced Citizenship.

Basic Citizenship Class

This class is for students who need practice in their English reading, writing, or speaking skills. Basic Citizenship Class will cover the naturalization process and requirements for applying for citizenship. Students will study the 100 questions and answers that will be a part of the interview. Students will also practice for the reading and writing portions of the test. This class will touch on some parts of the N-400 form. A pre-test may be required before admission to this class. Each student will receive a student book and flash cards.

The 100 questions and answers that will be a part of the naturalization interview will be reviewed as well as some of the reading and writing portions of the naturalization interview. A pre-test may be required before admission to this class. It is suggested that most students complete Beginning Citizenship Class before taking this class.
