Computer Applications-Overview

CCHEC offers many computer courses-from the bare-bone basics to advanced applications. There is literally something for everyone. These classes are offered in the Adult Learning Center at 705 Rodeo Street by Bunnie Mursko. All of the computer classes are offered as Open Entry/Open Exit so that you can come in and work on your schedule and at your own pace. Bring a friend and learn together.

No Grades . No Tests

Connecting to Friends and Family by computer is easier than ever, but you still need to know where to start. This course will introduce you to the basics of how to use the mouse (the non-furry variety), browse the Internet, how to use email to connect with friends and family, and the basics of computer hardware and software. This is a great starting point for the grandparents to receive photos of your grandkids, use travel sites to plan a vacation, shop on-line. This short introduction course is geared to the absolute beginner and costs only $15. The ALC Instructor, Bunnie Mursko, will walk you through the course one step at at time. This is Your Computer is our most popular computer class. It is a fun and easy class. You will walk away from this class with confidence in the following areas:
. Using the Mouse. Understanding the Motherboard
. Working with Your Computer. Using the Keyboard
. Scanning Documents. Designing a Database
. Connecting to the Internet. Setting Up to Print
. Starting Up an E-mail Account. The World Wide Web
. Configuring Your Display. Exploring Computers of the Future
. Word Processing. Maintaining Your Hard Drive
. Understanding Multimedia. Working with Spreadsheets
. Evaluating Operating Systems. Keeping Your Computer Virus Free

Self-Paced Computer Courses are available through the ALC. By utilizing these self-paced, computer based modules you can enhance current skills or learn new ones. With our flexible hours you are free to come in and work at your own pace. Develop or enhance your skills in:
